Second randomization of the election staff in the presence of observers; 1385 micro observers were also deployed.
The responsibility of conducting transparent and fair elections in Jalandhar district will be on the shoulders of 15,000 employees and officers. All these staff officials will perform their duties from the polling to the counting of votes. All the officers and employees have been divided with their work.
The district administration today conducted a second randomisation for deployment of election staff for the upcoming Assembly elections in the presence of district administration officials and representatives of political parties at the District Administrative Complex. Election Observers Manoj Kumar, Dr Saroj Kumar, Bhupinder S Chaudhary and Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori were present at the randmayment.
Different responsibilities assigned
The randomisation was carried out for deployment of more than 12,097 employees of central, state government, banks and public sector institutions who have been assigned different duties during elections. In addition to taking the services of the employees as micro-observers as per the requirement in the election, duties have been imposed as counting, polling and support staff.
1975 Randomization for booths
Punjab goes to polls on February 20. In view of this, randomization was carried out for deployment of 1975 polling parties at 1975 booths in the district. A total of 10712 employees have been posted as Pre-Zying Officers (PROs), Polling Officers (PO) during the elections and required staff will also be deployed for the counting of votes to be held on March 10. The staff for all the 1975 polling stations in the district consisted of 2678 PROs and 8034 POs.
1385 Micro Observers Deployed
Micro observers have also been deployed in all the nine Assembly segments of Jalandhar district. The first randomization was also done for this. The Deputy Commissioner said that a total of 1385 micro observers will be deployed across the district on the polling day, which will play a key role in the entire election process to ensure peaceful voting.
It may be mentioned that there are a total of close to 16.51 lakh voters in the district. The Deputy Commissioner said that around 15,000 employees, including polling staff and support staff of the returning officer, have been deployed on election duties in the district. He said that there will be no stone left in the proper completion of elections in Jalandhar.
