3132 out of 3396 vacant beds
There is a provision of 3386 beds for corona patients in various hospitals of the state. Of these, 3132 or more than 92 per cent of the beds are lying vacant. Similarly, 284 ICU beds are available for the treatment of critical patients. At the same time, in the third wave, which is considered to be very dangerous, there are only 84 patients on the ICU, that is, less than 1 percent of the patients are in need of an ICU compared to the total active cases. On January 31, 200 ICU beds were lying vacant in the state.
In the second wave of Corona, all the hospitals in the state had 100 per cent occupancy. Alam was that additional beds had to be arranged for the new infected. Serious patients were not getting ICU beds empty. This put a lot of pressure on the hospitals. The infected were craving for admission to the hospital.
In the second wave, therefore, pressure was being put on the doctors.
In the second wave, pressure was being created on doctors for ICUs and oxygen through influential individuals, but in the third wave there is the opposite. Only those patients who already have serious illnesses or have weak immunity are being admitted to hospitals. In the third wave of Corona, the lives of such patients are also being lost.
